If you are running a Strategy Roundtable™ Enterprise client:
- Please verify that the Sybase Adaptive Server Anywhere 7.x database server is running on the network server.
- If the server is running and your network communication protocol is TCP/IP, then most likely you are connected to a different (physical) network segment than the database server and/or you are attempting to connect across a WAN and your communication hardware (switches and routers) does not allow broadcast messages to traverse the network.
If this is the case, you should:
- Uninstall the Strategy Roundtable™ Client software from your PC.
- Reinstall the Strategy Roundtable™ Client (the installation software can be found in the ..\Gryphon_Systems\Sr_Server\client-install-set folder on the database server) and be sure to enter the IP address or computer name of the database server after (on the next page of the installation prompts) selecting the TCP/IP network communication protocol.
Alternately, a qualified technical support person can modify your ODBC Registry entries to include the Host={ip address or computer name} in the Comlinks entry. Please be sure to call us for assistance before jumping into the Registry to make any changes. We will be happy to guide you through this to ensure no mistakes are made.
- If this is not the case or it does not fix the problem, please call us for assistance.
If you are running Strategy Roundtable™ Desktop or the Strategy Roundtable™ Trial:
- After you start Strategy Roundtable™ try waiting for a minute or so before you actually log into the program - a standalone, runtime version of the Sybase Adaptive Server Anywhere database management system has to get started before Strategy Roundtable™ can access the database.
- If you encountered an error that caused the application to crash before you got this error, please shut down and restart your computer. This should resolve the problem. Please be sure to report the original error to us either by e-mail or phone so we can track down and rectify the problem.
Please call us or send us an e-mail if you haven't found what you need in these Support FAQs or the Product FAQs.
