Joseph Magid is Gryphon Systems' President and CEO with 20 years of experience in systems development, project management, Information Technology (IT) management, IT and corporate strategic planning and operational implementation. In addition to conceiving of and directing the development of Gryphon’s strategic management software, Strategy Roundtable™, Mr. Magid's prior consulting activities include:
- Facilitating bringing the IT strategy of a $100MM diversified specialty publishing company in line with the long-term business strategy.
- Lead the identification and resolution of critical IT deficiencies and provided key contributions towards successful bid for $6,000,000 Federal contract for a healthcare research organization.
- Performing a comprehensive IT management study for a suburban Philadelphia county government and providing temporary management services to begin implementing the study's recommendations resulting in 7 figure taxpayer savings;
- Facilitating the development of an IT strategic plan for a mid-sized Commonwealth of PA agency;
- Performing a comprehensive IT assessment and developing a corporate IT strategy and MIS strategic plan for a mid-sized manufacturing firm;
- Leading the development of strategic and tactical implementation plans for the information systems bureau of a large Commonwealth of PA agency;
- Re-engineered and managed automation of the operations of a non-profit organization with an international clientele;
- Supervising the analysis and documentation of internal operations of a large Commonwealth of PA agency in support of requirements definition for a major RFP to replace all internal accounting and warehouse control systems.
In addition to IT related assessment, strategy formulation and implementation, Mr. Magid has helped a wide range of organizations identify their key drivers, focus on their core issues and direct their activities to optimize their results. In addition, Mr. Magid is an expert in the analysis and subsequent re-organization of business processes to take full advantage of available information technology.
Prior to founding Gryphon Systems, Mr. Magid held various management and technical positions with Shared Medical Systems and The Reohr Group (acquired by Vector ESP, Inc.). Mr. Magid earned a BA in Physics from Cornell University and an MS in Math and Science Education from the University of Pennsylvania.
